by Suzanne Young

Book group selection for May 2015

Teen suicide is an epidemic and the only solution is The Program.  A program that erases the memories that make you depressed. Sloan and James are both growing weaker. The depression is setting in. And The Program is coming for them.
When is it right to take away the bad memories to to try to make things right?
Our discussion will be at the Marshall Public Library on  May 13th  at 6pm.

The Wretched of Muirwood

The Wretched of Muirwood (Legends of Muirwood, #1)

A wretched is like an orphan, but worse. An orphan knows who their parents were. A wretched on the other hand is unwanted, unloved, and abandoned and will live a life of servitude never learning who their family is. Lia is a wretched that was left at the Muirwood Abbey. She is a servant who works in the kitchens. As a wretched she will never be taught to read or write. The Medium is a power over all things that can only be accessed by those who have the right linage and training. Lia can access that power.

Her life changes when she makes the choice to hide and nurse an injured squire. During the time of war. And thus beginning the adventure that brings her to the battle lines and teaches her even more about the medium and leaves her with the hope that one day she will learn how to read and perhaps learn who she really is.
This is book one of the Muirwood trilogy and we will be discussing it on April 8 at 6pm.
