A Study In Scarlet

A Study In ScarletA Study In Scarlet by Arthur Conan Doyle

This year the book for our traditional "Banned/Challenged" book we are reading "A Study in Scarlet" by Sir Arthur Canon Doyle. A.K.A the first Sherlock Holmes book.
Believe it or not this book was first banned in the U.S.S.R. in 1929 for the occultism of its author. Among other times of being challenged the most current was in 2011 Virginia County School district pulled it from 6th grade reading lists because it included 'inaccurate' information about a religious group.
