Discussion in April

The Beekeeper's Apprentice
by Laurie R. King

Great book about the older Sherlock Holmes and his young apprentice, Mary Russell, who happens to be a woman (which is strange at first because it was set in 1915 and women were not detectives). I think the thing I loved the most was that is was not just one mystery they solve. This book contains several years of them sleuthing together and happens to be the first book in a series.

Fun read and future book discussion book for my group!

--We will discuss it in April 2011--
So mark your calendars for
Wednesday, April 13 at 6:00 for a great discussion!

-----UPDATE-----
Our book group had a great discussion on Prayers for Sale. To get into the spirit of the book, the book group learned how to tie a quilt. Each of us quilted as we talked about the book and also learned the history behind the quilt squares that had been passed down and given to a member of the group. This member also shared the story behind some of the 50-year-old quilt squares that had been made from her relatives’ shirts, dresses and aprons.
